Casting has been announced for "FROM A TO DOUBLE-D" at the SheNYC Summer Theater Festival. The new play by Mandy Murphy will run at the Connelly Theater this July.
While in a dream-like state, 23-year-old Devon Hayes has become the star of her own auction. With the help of fast-talking auctioneer Don, Devon auctions off her bras from sizes A through double D while the audience bids for more than just a souvenir. With every bra, a memory of Devon's is revealed, until she wakes up and her new unexpected reality sets in.
The show will star Mandy Murphy as Devon Hayes. It will also feature Lexie Speirs (Orange is the New Black) as Brennan Stuart, Bryn Packard (Erik: A Play About a Puppet) as Don, and Tepper Saffren (Return to Spoon River) as Matthew Schneider.
From A to Double-D will be directed by Ryan Bovée, with Assistant Director Anna Watts. For tickets and more information, visit www.shenycarts.org/from-a-to-double-d.
The SheNYC Summer Theater Festival is New York City's only festival devoted to producing full-length plays, musicals, and adaptations by women writers annually. Its commitment to an open submissions process allows it to discover and cultivate the best up-and-coming talent in the industry.
The 2017 festival will run from July 6-16th in the East Village's Connelly Theater, and will feature eight new works. Visit www.shenycarts.org for more information on the other participating shows, as well as performance dates, times, and ticket information.
