Singer/songwriter Cassandra Kubinski and Framerunner NYC have released the official music video for "Avalanche," the second single from Kubinski's album "Just Being Myself." Scroll down to watch the video!
An official Concert, Screening, and Release Party will be held next Friday, February 21 at 8 pm (doors 7:30 pm) St. John's Church VOICETheatre, 81 Christopher St, NYC. The concert will feature Cassandra Kubinski and her band, a screening and short talkback for "Avalanche", and an after-party. Tickets are $10, available at the door, and the concert is open to all ages.
The release coincides with Valentine's Day because, as Kubinski explains, "Avalanche is a love song, but not in the traditional "I love you" kind of way. It's the story of someone who resists love, but ultimately finds that her true happiness and freedom comes in surrendering to love. I think we often resist who and what we love, out of fear, but fulfillment and exhilaration lie on the other side of giving in to love."
Adds Keith Shapiro, Director of "Avalanche" and General Manager/Partner of Frame:Runner, one of New York City's premiere post production facilities, "Upon the release of Cassandra's CD, "Just Being Myself," I was captivated by the entire CD. "Avalanche" seemed to be one of everyone's favorites, and Cassandra gave me the opportunity to create a video with her that would follow this powerful love story she wrote, and add to the beauty of it. Cassandra, myself, & Creative Director/Editor Rick Broat of Frame:Runner, had a seamless and true collaboration, every step of the way.
"Avalanche" music video has been an incredible collaboration of creative talents with Cassandra Kubinski, myself, and Creative Director/Editor Rick Broat of Frame:Runner.
The song "Avalanche" is produced by Edd Kalehoff and Kalehoff Productions, who have produced music for Faith Hill, Britney Spears, Josh Groban, Monday Night Football, Good Morning America, The View, Carnival Cruiselines, and more.
According to Billy Joel, Cassandra Kubinski "proves that the singer/songwriter genre is not only alive and well, but still capable of being transcendent." "Just Being Myself," the first single from the album of the same name, appeared on "Real Housewives of NJ" as well as in a promo for NBC, and Kubinski's other songs have been heard on TV from Lifetime's "Dance Moms" (5 feature song placements) to Food Network to E! News Live. Kubinski performs live in New York City at venues ranging from 54 Below and the Metropolitan Room to The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall. Her latest album features trumpeter Chris Botti on the track "Je T'aime", and she has opened for Dickie Betts, Anna Nalick, and Ingram Hill. She began her career as "Annie" in Goodspeed Musical's 20th anniversary production, and since has performed lead roles in "Mirette" at Goodspeed (Jones and Schmidt), "The Audience" (Drama Desk nominated), and "Clear Blue Tuesday", a rock movie/musical that ran at Quad Cinemas in NYC. She regularly writes for other artist and voices jingles and voice-overs for brands like the USPS, Homegoods, Kohls, and Dunkin Donuts. She wrote the song "Not So Different," an anthem to benefit the Autism community, sales of which currently benefit Autism Speaks, and the video for which will be released March 2014.
