The Casper Journal has recognized playwright Heather Judd for winning the 2009 ARTCORE One-Act Playwriting Contest. The contest is meant to honor original plays by Wyoming playwrights.

The teacher decided to enter the contest after reading an announcement regarding the previous year's winner. She had always dabbled in playwriting for her students and decide to put her skills to work for ARTCORE.

Her play, WOLF, centers around a Wyoming town and how they react to the issue of having a wolf in their community. The town features an array of characters including a sheep herder who discovers the creature, ranchers who fear the wolf, a luckless mayor, and the wolf himself.
