Carter Thor Studios East has announced the Grand Opening of their New York location with ongoing scene study classes beginning Monday, January 7, 2013.

Since 1982, the Carter Thor Studio has been working to help actors, writers, directors, producers and artists of many disciplines to mine, define and refine their crafts. The studio was founded by Cameron Thor and Alice Carter in Los Angeles, following their work with legendary coach, Roy London. In the late 1990's, Jock MacDonald came on-board to coach and direct the Studio's development east of the Mississippi. 2009 saw the addition of Isabel Farias as another east coast coach and CEO of Carter Thor Studios East.

Already established in Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal and Boston, the Studio has been home to many successful artists including Christina Applegate, Cameron Diaz, Faye Dunaway, Djimon Hunsou and many more. In ten short years, the Carter Thor Studio has proven to be a creative centre like no other for the growth and blossoming of new talent and the ever evolving world of dramatic storytelling.

Classes at the Studio are intimate and intense, never betraying their original purpose: to take each artist on their unique and personal journey to becoming an extraordinary storyteller.

Exclusive to Carter Thor Studios East, students in the New York Studio will benefit from the experience of Co-Coaching. In practical terms, both actors in the scene will each have the full attention of one coach, heightening the actor's training experience.

Ongoing scene study classes will continue every Monday from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Alchemical Theatre Laboratory, 137 W. 14th Street, New York, NY.
