Currently riding high atop the country charts with her umpteenth #1 hit, music superstar and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is deep in rehearsals for the new NBC live network TV presentation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic family-friendly musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC and she has taken to Twitter to share her enthusiasm for the project and also shed some light on her theatre-centric off-the-clock activities, as well - which may or may not include glass slippers!
Underwood wrote earlier this week, "What a great afternoon! I just saw Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway! Such a beautiful classic...and SO much talent on stage!"
Certainly, soaking up another legendary Rodgers & Hammerstein score could not hurt in preparing to bring one of their best-loved characters to the small screen in a big way, as Miss Underwood is poised to do in December with her portrayal of Maria Von Trapp.
Today, Underwood imparted her excitement for THE SOUND OF MUSIC and related how well rehearsals are going, sharing, "Another great day of rehearsals! I love my job! :) I can't believe my second week of NYC living is almost over! Tonight's agenda: Preds game".
