Carolee Carmello to Join New York City Gay Men's Chorus for HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Celebrate this holiday season with 250 of the most the powerful voices in New York City - the New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC). This year's hilarious and heartwarming NYCGMC Holiday Spectacular - Home for the Holidays - tells the story of a young man's journey to The Big Apple, the family he leaves behind, the holiday characters he meets along the way and the chosen family he ultimately builds.

This year the chorus is joined by Broadway veteran and Tony nominee Carolee Carmello who will bring her own special brand of warmth, vitality, and vocal versatility to the event.

Home for the Holidays takes place on Friday December 19th at 8PM, Saturday December 20th at 8PM and Sunday December 21st at 3pm at New York University's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place, New York. Tickets are available through the NYCGMC website, www.nycgmc.org.

This show features all of your holiday favorites arranged for the powerful sound of over 250 of the gayest men in New York. The chorus will also be presenting a new commission The Time is Now by BMI's Harrington Award winner Arri Lawton Simon.

According to Artistic Director Dr. Charles Beale, "After our international show last year, our Holiday Spectacular returns this year to traditional Christmas fare, with a unique gay twist. Expect Frosty, Scrooge, Santa, Mrs. Santa, our very own Fairy Godmother, and a touching love story."

On the heels of the Chorus's holiday spectacular, they will continue its momentum with the more-than-over-the-top March production. Following six years of sell-out, sing-a-long performances, NYCGMC will present Big Gay Sing 7: Movie Mania!

Our seventh incarnation of Big Gay Sing takes us to the movies with a fun-filled, yet somehow deeply glamorous, sing-a-long evening featuring all your favorite movie songs down the years. Think karaoke meets Oscar night glitter-with over 250 fabulous singers, the lyrics on the screen for you to sing-a-long to, and tons of dancing and fabulous drag. Sing your heart out, become your favorite movie diva, and join us as NYCGMC brings the community together at this gay, gay, gay New York tradition.

Big Gay Sing 7 will be hosted by one of the most sought-after jokesmiths in the entertainment industry, Bruce Vilanch. Mr. Vilanch has scripted most of the Academy Awards telecasts over the last decade and is the perfect host for Movie Mania!.

And, as always, there will be tons of audience sing-a-long opportunities - because at Big Gay Sing you're the star! BGS7 will take place at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts on March 20, 21,and 2015. Tickets go on sale in January 2015.

For Pride Month NYCGMC brings you a beautiful and thought-provoking show, Generation Y. Gay Millennials have a different take on coming out, love, marriage, gender roles, and a world of total connectivity and online exposure. Shining a spotlight on the challenges of coming out in this age of technology, NYCGMC presents the New York premier of the acclaimed 'Tyler's Suite'. This brand new commission tells the heart-breaking story of Tyler Clementi whose death brought national and international attention to the issue of cyberbullying and the struggles facing LGBT youth. The evening will feature the captivating music of, amongst others, Stephen Schwartz, John Corigliano, John Bucchino, and Ann Hampton Callaway. Generation Y will be performed at BMCC's Tribeca Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Tickets go on sale in April 2015.
