Carol Channing To Sign Copies Of 'For Heaven's Sake' At Barnes & Noble July 23

Three-time Tony Award winner Carol Channing is set to appear at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle on July 23 at 6pm. Channing will discuss her career and newest album 'For Heaven's Sake' with Richard Skipper. Channing will also be signing copies of the disc.

'For Heaven's Sake' was released on September 15, 2009. The album is a collection of classic standards and gospel favorites. Selected track listings include "He ain't never done me nothin but good,' 'Roll Jordan Roll,' 'Razzle-Dazzle,' 'Shine God's Love To Everyone,' 'I'm just an old chuck of coal,' 'The show must go on,' and 'Modesto, You're My Hometown.'

Richard Skipper is an entertainer and Carol Channing impersonator. As Channing Skipper has performed HELLO DOLLY as Dolly at Asbury Park's Paramount Theatre, Skipper has also performed his tribute show to Channing in Atlantic City for three long-running engagements.

Carol Channing made her Broadway debut in 1941's LET'S FACE IT as Eve Arden's understudy. Channing stared as Lorelei Lee in the original production of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES. Channing was nominated for her first Tony Award for THE VAMP in 1955. In 1964 Channing originated the role of Dolly Levi in the beloved musical HELLO DOLLY, Chaning won the Tony award for her performance and continued to play the role in various productions throughout her life including two Broadway revivals in 1979 and 1995. Channing reprised her role as Lerelei Lee in the new musical LORELEI in 1974 for which she was nominated for a Tony award.

Channing won a Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 1995 and a Special Tony Award in 1968.
