The Falcon Theatre's 2007-2008 subscription series has been announced.
Actress and comedian Carol Burnett will return to the stage in the world premiere of What's Been Bothering You Lately?, a new play by Charles Grodin (The Right Kind of People) that will open on October 26th at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, CA and run through November 18th.
Directed by Chris Smith, the production will feature Burnett as "an under-qualified life coach specializing in couples' therapy; she knows that she could really help them...if only there weren't so crazy." Best known to TV audiences for her work on "The Carol Burnett Show," Burnett last appeared on Broadway in the Sondheim revue Putting It Together (although her play Hollywood Arms, co-written with daughter Carrie Hamilton, was produced in 2002). Other Broadway credits include Moon Over Buffalo, Fade Out - Fade In and Once Upon a Mattress, in which she made her Broadway debut and rose to fame for her performance as Princess Winnifred. She has been seen on screen in Noises Off, Annie, A Wedding, The Front Page and more, as well as on TV in "Mad About You," "Mama's Family" ando thers.The Falcon Theatre season will also include Arnold Margolin's "metaphysical farce" Leap (directed by Susan Morgenstern and running Sept. 14 through Oct. 7), the world premiere of the Troubadour Theatre Company's A Charlie James Brown Christmas (directed by Matt Walker and running Dec. 7 through Jan. 13), a parody of the beloved Peanuts holiday specials with tunes by the Godfather of Soul, and the one-man show The Memoirs of Abraham Lincoln, written by Peter King Beach and starring Granville "Sonny" Van Dusen, directed by Delbert Mann and running from Feb. 8, 2008 through March 2. There will also be another comedy running April 4-27.
