Carnegie Hall's has announced some changes to its 2018-2019 schedule. See the newly announced details below!

Carnegie Hall OPENING NIGHT GALA
SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY
Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
(Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage)

PROGRAM UPDATE:
Perspectives artist Michael Tilson Thomas leads the San Francisco Symphony in a program that now includes Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1, replacing the previously announced Ravel's La valse. Also on the program is Gershwin's Cuban Overture and An American in Paris, plus songs, arias, and duets from opera and musical theater sung by Renée Fleming and Audra McDonald.

SPHINX VIRTUOSI
Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
(Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage)

PROGRAM AND CONCERT TIME UPDATE:
Sphinx Virtuosi will now perform at 6:00 p.m. instead of the previously announced start time and have added the New York premiere of Derrick Spiva Jr.'s A Vision Unfolding, the traditional South African song Ndikhokhele Bawo (arranged by Mari-Pitout), and "Glory" from Selma (arranged by Eugene Rogers) by John Legend, Common and Rhymefest to the program alongside previously announced works by Shostakovich, Cassadó, and Terence Blanchard. Yasushi Akutagawa's Triptyque for String Orchestra is no longer on the program.

ORCHESTRE RÉVOLUTIONNAIRE ET ROMANTIQUE

CONCERT TIME UPDATE:
The all-Berlioz program by Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and conducted by Sir John Eliot Gardiner on October 14 will now begin at 3:00 p.m. instead of the previously announced start time.

Monday October 22, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

PROGRAM UPDATE:
Ensemble Connect plays Ligeti's Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet and Kaija Saariaho's Light and Matter on a program that also includes the previously announced new work by Gabriella Smith and Brahms Clarinet Trio in A Minor, Op. 114.

Violinist Maxim Vengerov and pianist Roustem Saïtkoulov offer a program that includes Ernst's The Last Rose of Summer and Paganini's I palpiti alongside previously announced violin sonatas by Brahms, Enescu, and Ravel.

Violinist Pamela Frank joins the New York String Orchestra conducted by Jaime Laredo for Vivaldi's Concerto for Four Violins and Orchestra in B Minor, Op. 3, No. 10 joining previously announced fellow violinists: Jinjoo Cho, Bella Hristova, and Kyoko Takezawa, and replacing violinist Cho-Liang Lin.

Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes has added Schumann's Three Romances, Op. 28 to the previously announced program that also includes works by Janácek and Bartók. He will no longer be performing Schumann's Blumenstück and Chopin's Ballade No. 3.

The New York premiere of Guillaume Connesson's Eiréné has been added to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra's concert lead by Chief Conductor Daniele Gatti. Also on the program is Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, "Emperor" featuring Pierre-Laurent Aimard and R. Strauss's Ein Heldenleben.

ARTIST AND PROGRAM ADDITION:
Anne-Sophie Mutter is joined by violinist Ye-Eun Choi for the US premiere of Unsuk Chin's Gran Cadenza for Two Violins. Also on the program is the world premiere of Sebastian Currier's Piano Trio with pianist Lambert Orkis and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, and violin sonatas by Debussy, Mozart, and Poulenc. Currier's Aftersong is no longer on the program.

PROGRAM UPDATE:
The Hagen Quartet will play selections from Dvorák's Cypresses, replacing the previously announced Beethoven string quartet. Composer/clarinetist Jörg Widmann joins for the US premiere of his Clarinet Quintet and Mozart's Clarinet Quintet.

CRISTINA GÓMEZ GODOY / MICHAIL LIFITS

PROGRAM UPDATE:
The complete program has been added for oboist Cristina Gómez Godoy's recital with pianist Michail Lifits including Poulenc's Sonata for Oboe and Piano; C. Schumann's Three Romances, Op. 22; and Ravel's Alborada del gracioso for Solo Piano. Additional works by Elliott Carter (Figment VI and HBHH) as well as R. Schumann's Three Romances are no longer on the program which features Carter's "Inner Song" from Trilogy as well as pieces by Britten, Saint-Saëns, and Pasculli as previously announced.

Perspectives artist Yuja Wang plays the New York premiere of a work for solo piano by fellow Perspectives artist Michael Tilson Thomas, who leads the New World Symphony on a program that also includes the New York premiere of Tilson Thomas's Four Preludes on Playthings of the Wind featuring soprano Measha Brueggergosman and Schubert's String Quartet in D Minor, D. 810, "Death and the Maiden" as previously announced.

NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
(Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage)

CONCERT ADDITION:
A performance by the National Symphony Orchestra, led by its Music Director Gianandrea Noseda, has been added with a program that features Liszt's Dante Symphony and Rossini's Stabat Mater. Soloists include soprano Erika Grimaldi, mezzo-soprano Chiara Amarù, tenor Michele Angelini, and bass-baritone Marko Mimica (replacing the previously announced bass Michele Pertusi). The NSO will also be joined by the University of Maryland Concert Choir, led by Director Edward Maclary. This concert replaces the originally scheduled performance on the same date by Mr. Noseda and Teatro Regio Torino which recently cancelled its spring 2019 US tour.

ARTIST AND PROGRAM ADDITIONS:
Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads The MET Orchestra in Debussy's La mer and Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé Suite No. 2, and is joined by mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard for Dutilleux's Le temps l'horloge and Ravel's Shéhérazade.
