Carnegie Hall presents the Beatles' tribute performance '1964: The Tribute' tonight, January 9.

This Ohio band began impersonating the Beatles way back in 1984, two decades after their protoplasts sold out Carnegie Hall. Now, a full nostalgia cycle later, the four latter-day mop tops return to headline Carnegie Hall once again themselves. The presence of a tribute act in the hallowed venue may seem as sacrilegious today as a rock band playing the space did more than four decades ago, when the Beatles were snuck in under the guise of a string quartet.
