Are you ready to unleash your inner Dancing Queen?  Carnegie Hall will host a disco attire contest for ticket holders attending The New York Pops season-opening concert, The Music of ABBA, on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. with special guest vocal group Rajaton.  Participants are invited to embrace the spirit of the decade and come flaunt their finest leisure suits, bell bottoms, glitter gowns, and other 1970s attire while enjoying the performance of some of ABBA's most popular chart-topping hits including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, and Take a Chance on Me.  The disco glam vintage attire contest will take place during intermission.

Participating ticket holders will have their photos taken in the main lobby during intermission. The next day, the photos will be posted on Carnegie Hall's Facebook page, where fans can vote for best attire and a number of other categories. The Grand Prize winner will be awarded a pair of tickets to three (3) New York Pops performances at Carnegie Hall during the 2010-2011 season, as well as a chance to meet New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke backstage.  Other fun prizes will be awarded to superlative title winners (ex. "Cutest Couple," "Most Creative").  For the most up to date information on the contest and to see a short video about the concert, please visit the Carnegie Hall Facebook page at: facebook.com/event.php?eid=149057115136133.

Following the concert, tap your toes all the way to Gossip Bar for an ABBA After-Party.  Mingle with The New York Pops' Music Director Steven Reineke and guest artists Rajaton, show off your retro outfit, and sip on a "Mamma Mia Martini." Gossip Bar is located at 733 9th Avenue at 50th Street.  The party starts at 10:30PM and will end at 1AM.  ABBA-themed drink specials and food available for purchase.

Contest Rules: A concert ticket to the October 15, 2010 New York Pops performance-available at carnegiehall.org-is required to participate. Carnegie Hall Facebook fans will vote between October 16-22, 2010, and winners will be announced on October 25, 2010.   The only eligible photos will be those taken by the Carnegie Hall official photographer.  Fan photos will not be considered.
