Carnegie Hall Adds Philadelphia Orchestra Concert, 2/3

Yannick Nézet-Séguin Leads the Orchestra in Program
Featuring Music by Smetana, Dvorák, and Pianist Radu Lupu Playing Bartók

On Monday, February 3 at 8:00 p.m., The Philadelphia Orchestra led by Music DirectorYannick Nézet-Séguin returns to Carnegie Hall for a performance newly-added to the Hall's 2013-2014 season schedule. The orchestra's February program features Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 3 with guest soloist Radu Lupu in addition to Smetana's "The Moldau" from his set of six symphonic poems, Má Vlast, and Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 6 in D Major, Op. 60.

This new concert will be The Philadelphia Orchestra's second concert at Carnegie Hall with Maestro Nézet-Séguin this season, following a December 6 performance with pianist Hélène Grimaud. They also perform on February 21 with cellist Truls Mørk and on May 2 with violinist Lisa Batiashvili. The orchestra's performance scheduled for Carnegie Hall's Opening Night on October 2 was cancelled due to the strike by Local One stagehands.
