Career Transition For Dancers and Complexions Contemporary Ballet, present WINTER HEAT Latin Dance Party on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the beautiful Edison Ballroom (240 West 47 Street). This is the 7th benefit evening that includes cocktails & hors d'oeuvers, three-course sit-down dinner, and open bar. It will include dancing to the sounds of Joe Battaglia and the New York Big Band. There will also be a special performance by Complexions Contemporary Ballet performing and excerpt for "Holiday." There will also be Latin dance lessons from Dance Time Square ("So You Think You Can Dance" Choreographers Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin).

. The event raises funds to ensure positive futures for those artists both leaving as well as those preparing for dance careers. The Dress code is ‘WHATEVER MAKES YOU DANCE'. It will be a fun-filled evening of Latin entertainment that will capture the glamour of a sophisticated Manhattan supper club, a beautiful sweeping dance floor, food and drink to continue swinging in a new year.

Recently celebrating its Silver Anniversary, Career Transition For Dancers has worked to enable dancers to define their career possibilities and develop skills necessary to excel in a variety of disciplines for 26 years. With of­fices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and a mobile National Outreach Project, the organization has provided over 46,000 hours of individual and group counseling, with a dollar value of over $4 million in educational and entrepreneurial grants. Outside of the or­ganization's 4,600 active clients, the organization has helped thousands of dancers in 47 states take their first steps towards discovering reward­ing post-performance careers. Celebrating 16 years of dance, Complexions Contemporary Ballet found­ed by co-artistic directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson is an ensemble company based in New York City. The mission of Complexions is to celebrate excellence in dance. The company aims to inspire its audi­ences through the passion, physicality, and power of its performers. From classical ballet to its contemporary derivations, Complexions harnesses the strengths of varied dance forms to bring its unique blend to audiences around the globe. Throughout its 15 years the company has toured ex­tensively weaving across the United States, North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia - to name a few. Performances often include educational programs for local community members. In 2010, the com­pany sold out its summer & winter intensives (for dancers 16-21) and its annual Joyce Theater season received exceptional acclaim.
