Career Transition For Dancers Holds Career Development Seminar, 4/8

Career Transition For Dancers announces the morning sessions for "Stepping into hope and change: A free career development seminar for dancers" on Thursday, April 8th, 2010 at the Actor's Equity Audition Center, 165 West 46th Street (at Broadway) 2nd floor NYC NY 10036.

The free all-day seminar begins from 9:30-10:00am with Registration. The day's events begins at 10am with a Keynote Speaker (tba). This will be followed by Breakout Sessions: Survival Work; Hot careers and exploration; Dancing into a passion-based career. A lunch will be provided during the Networking/Resource Fair. The afternoon sections begin at 2:00 pm with another plenary speaker (tba), followed by Breakout Sessions, and the final wrap to conclude aprox. 4:30 pm.

The morning sessions to choose from are:

>> 11:45am-1:15pm EST "Help, I need income now! Survival strategies to pay the bills"
Learn how to use your interests and the adaptable skills you have cultivated as a dancer to find creative and sustainable work immediately. Lauren S. Gordon, MSW, LCSW, moderator

>> 11:45am-1:15pm EST "What opportunities are out there? A look at hot career areas for future career planning"
Learn how to take the experience and skills you already have and get into an industry that is in high demand. Anita Lands, moderator

>> 11:45am-1:15pm EST "Where do I go from here? How do I find my next passion?"
Take an inside-out approach to self exploration using creative imagery, play, and humor to tap into your creative possibilities. Suzie Jary, MSW, LCSW, CP, moderator; Renee Rosenberg, presenter.

Partner organizations for the event include Harkness Center for Dance Injuries, Pentacle, and The Field. The workshops will also be facilitated by Paulette Fried, MSW, NCCC.
