Renowned performers Liz Callaway, Charles Strouse, Michael Winther, Benjamin Schrader, Gwen Hollander, Jason Robinson and Gabriella Stravelli will perform at an event benefiting Kaufman Center's Theater Wing.

These stars will perform at a special evening of food and song benefiting Kaufman Center programs bringing theater to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The evening begins with sumptuous appetizers and cocktails followed by performances in an intimate setting, giving guests a chance to enjoy these amazing performers close up as they've never heard them before. Afterwards, guests are invited to enjoy desserts and join a show tune sing-along complete with song sheets.

KAUFMAN CENTER'S THEATER WING

Kaufman Center is home to Merkin Concert Hall; Lucy Moses School, New York's largest community arts school; and the Special Music School, New York's only public school for musically gifted children. This event benefits Kaufman Center's Theater Wing, which strives to integrate a love of musical theater into the lives of both young and old with the following programs:

Drama for Literacy, teaching NYC public school children to act, improvise, write plays and communicate expressively

Broadway Playhouse, featuring interactive, kid-friendly concerts in Merkin Hall exploring the works of musical theater icons Poppy Seed Players, performing original musicals with Jewish themes for family audiences in Merkin Hall. The Broadway Close Up series, in which stars of today pay tribute to legendary Broadway composers in Merkin Hall

Summer Musical Theater Workshop-now celebrating its 20th year-which gives kids 6-15 a unique opportunity to work with a professional director/writer and musical director/composer to perform new musical plays written especially for them.
