CINDERELLA -- the Rodgers + Hammerstein musical now at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) -- played its 100th performance on Wednesday evening, May 29. The cast celebrated with a cake from Carlo's Bakery, home of TV's "Cake Boss." The musical began previews on January 25 and had its official opening night on March 3. Written for CBS-TV in 1957, this production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA marks the musical's first-eve Broadway production, now in its 5th month of performances. The Friday, May 31st broadcast of WNBC-TV/Channel 4's program "New York Live" seen weekdays at 12:30 p.m. will feature a backstage interview with CINDERELLA stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana.

CINDERELLA recently won three Drama Desk Awards: Laura Osnes won the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her performance in the title role in CINDERELLA, while William Ivey Long won the award for Outstanding Costume Design and Danny Troob won for Outstanding Orchestrations. In addition to musical numbers from the original score -- including "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible/It's Possible," "Ten Minutes Ago" and "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" -- this CINDERELLA includes songs from the Rodgers + Hammerstein "trunk."
