Christian Borle is the recipient of this year's Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for PETER AND THE STARCATCHER.

Borle made his Broadway debut in 1999 understudying the role of Willard in the stage adaptation of the film Footloose. He was featured in the 2000 revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, and as the dance captain and an understudy for the short-lived 2002 musical Amour. In 2003 he replaced Gavin Creel in the role of Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Actress Sutton Foster played the title role; the two married in 2006.

Borle's most notable credit is Monty Python's Spamalot, in which he played a number of roles, including Prince Herbert and the Historian. His performance earned him a 2005 Drama Desk Award nomination as Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. Most recently, he played Emmett Forrest in Jerry Mitchell's Legally Blonde, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. The musical is based on MGM's 2001 film of the same name.

On television, Borle can be seen on NBC's 'SMASH'.

The acclaimed new American play PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice, directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Drama Desk Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), began preview performances on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on March 28 and officially opened on April 15.

Based on The New York Times best selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatcher is described as "an innovative and imaginative new play, in which a company of twelve actors plays some 50 characters, all on a journey to answer the century-old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up? This epic origin story of one of popular culture's most enduring and beloved characters proves that an audience's imagination can be the most captivating place in the world."

The cast of Peter in the Starcatcher includes: Christian Borle, Tony nominated for his role as ‘Black Stache’ (and star of NBC’s “Smash”); Celia Keenan-Bolger, Tony nominated for her role as ‘Molly,’ the titular Starcatcher; and Adam Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal) as ‘Boy’, along with Teddy Bergman, Arnie Burton, Matt D’Amico, Kevin Del Aguila, Carson Elrod, Greg Hildreth, Rick Holmes, Isaiah Johnson, David Rossmer, Betsy Hogg, Orville Mendoza, Jason Ralph and John Sanders.

The creative team includes Wayne Barker (Music), Steven Hoggett (Movement), Marco Paguia (Music Direction), Donyale Werle (Scenic Design), Paloma Young (Costume Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design) and Darron L West (Sound Design).

Peter and the Starcatcher is produced on Broadway by Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Greg Schaffert, Eva Price, Tom Smedes, Disney Theatrical Productions, Suzan & Ken Wirth/DeBartolo Miggs, Catherine Schreiber, Daveed Frazier & Mark Thompson, Jack Lane, Jane Dubin, Allan S.
