Tonight, May 7, 2012, the revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO welcomes the return Terra C. MacLeod as merry murderess Velma Kelly and Roz Ryan as Cook County jail Matron "Mama" Morton.
Over the past 10 years, Terra C. MacLeod has played the role of Velma Kelly throughout the world, including Broadway, London's West End, both French-language premieres in Montreal and Paris, international and national tours and the 10th Anniversary Broadway Gala performance.
Her other stage credits include Blood Brothers and The Producers at Vancouver Arts Club, Kiss of the Spider Woman at LA Havok Theatre, Cats and The Pajama Game at Musical Theatre West, West Side Story at the New Orleans Opera and Vancouver Arts Club (Jessie Award for Best Supporting Actress), Guys and Dolls at San Diego Music Theatre, Damn Yankees and A Chorus Line (Cassie).
Her film and television credits include The Lizzie Maguire Movie, "The Reagans," "The Dead Zone," "Jeremiah," "Cold Squad," "Life or Something Like It."
In the role of Velma Kelly, MacLeod replaces Amra-Faye Wright, who concluded her Broadway return engagement yesterday, May 6, prior to starring opposite Christie Brinkley in the national tour of CHICAGO in San Diego (May 8-13), Los Angeles (May 15-27) and Durham, North Carolina (July 31-August 5).
A celebrated fixture in the CHICAGO family, Roz Ryan returns to Broadway this spring after starring in the acclaimed Seattle Fifth Avenue Theatre production of Saving Aimee last fall.
Her Broadway credits include Ain't Misbehavin', Dreamgirls, One Mo' Time, The Pajama Game and A Christmas Carol, as well as national and international tours of Annie, South Pacific and Blues in the Night.
Her films include Went to Coney Island, Cotton Club, I Think I Love My Wife, The Invention of Lying and Waiting for Forever.
Television audiences will recognize Ms. Ryan as Amelia Hetebrink in the long-running comedy series "Amen" (NBC), Mae Palmer in "Barbershop" (Showtime) and Mrs. Dixon in "Good News" (UPN).
She will next be seen on Broadway in Alexander deJong's All That Glitters, slated for a spring 2013 bow.
Ryan replaces Carol Woods, who concluded her current Broadway engagement yesterday, May 6, prior to joining the national tour of CHICAGO.
CHICAGO also stars Tracy Shayne as Roxie Hart, Tony Yazbeck as Billy Flynn and Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart.
