The long-running hit Broadway musical CHICAGO is pleased to announce an innovative new summer performance schedule. This new schedule, designed to better accomodate both the domestic and international tourist markets, features Thursday matinee performances at 3 p.m.

"Throughout the past 15 years, we've had the opportunity to thoroughly research and analyze the trends for summer tourist traffic in New York City," said CHICAGO producer Barry Weissler. "We believe that the addition of Thursday matinees will prove popular with tourists, and we're excited to see how they respond to this ground-breaking new opportunity to experience CHICAGO."

Effective July 6, 2011, the new summer performance schedule will be as follows:

Monday 8 p.m.
Tuesday DARK
Wednesday 8 p.m.
Thursday 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Friday 8 p.m.
Saturday 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Sunday 7 p.m.

(The summer performance schedule continues through Sunday, September 4. CHICAGO's regular performance schedule will resume on Monday, September 5.)

Now in its 15th record-breaking year on Broadway, CHICAGO is known for its innovative tactics for ongoing audience outreach and large-scale brand building. Earlier this year, CHICAGO led the Broadway industry with the first-ever Facebook Fan Day, wherein an entire performance was given away for FREE to any Facebook fan who recruited 10 or more of their friends to "Like" CHICAGO on the popular social networking site. The endeavor resulted in massive online exposure for CHICAGO via conventional press, plus thousands of individual fans' Facebook posts, Twitter feeds and the like.

Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, CHICAGO is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival. The producion currently stars Christie Brinkley as Roxie Hart (through June 19), Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Brent Barrett as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton.
