"If everything you drew became real, where would your imagination take you?" This is the question that Alex Curtis' innovative one-man show, CHALK (a silent comedy.), invites its audiences to laugh, dance, and sigh through when they attend this year's Gotham Storytelling Festival at The Kraine Theater.

On November 5th at 2pm, Curtis will tell a story entirely without words - but with extraordinary amounts of charm, heart, and joy.

CHALK is a playful and poignant homage to classic silent film era comedians. Originally inspired by Curtis' experience dating after the break-up of his long-term relationship, CHALK explores themes of loneliness and self-acceptance, while at the same time presenting them in the lighthearted package of a clown show reminiscent of Harold Lloyd or Bill Irwin.

Chalk is a goofy testament to the power of a child-like imagination, and a moving exploration of the adult search for romantic love and connection. With a perfect mix of play and pathos, CHALK is a heartwarming romp guaranteed to thrill audiences of all ages.

Chalk has been called "Great Classic Clowning" (Off the Beaten Track), "Unbelievably Special" (Theater in the Now) and "Clever, Theatrical Magic" (Center on the Aisle). It runs 45 minutes.

Chalk is directed by Caitlin Ryan O'Connell and features choreography by Mike Kirsch. Chalk was first developed with the Brown/Trinity MFA Program, and then debuted at the Providence Fringe Festival in July 2014. In 2016, it debuted in New York as part of the FRIGID Festival - also at the Kraine Theater.

Tickets for CHALK cost $15 and can be reserved in advance online at www.HorseTrade.info. The Kraine Theater is located at 85 E 4th St, New York, NY 10003, near Broadway-Lafayette on the B,D, F, and M lines and Bleeker Street on the 6 line.
