The Council of Fashion Designers of America will debut its first jewelry showcase Oct. 16 at its headquarters on New York's Bleecker Street. According to CFDA chief executive officer Steven Kolb, CFDA member Simon Alcantara's idea to give more exposure of their growing contingent of jewelry designers.
"Our best ideas come from the ground up and from grassroots efforts," Kolb told WWD. "We reached out to designers who could benefit from the exposure."
The designers, all CFDA members, include Alcantara, Angela Cummings,Danielle and Jodie Snyder of Dannijo, Dean Harris, Gerard Yosca, Kara Ross,Steven Lagos, Lisa Jenks, Loree Rodkin, Lisa Salzer of Lulu Frost, Michael Spirito, Mimi So, Mish Tworkowski of Mish, Nak Armstrong, Nicholas Varney of Nicholas Varney Jewels, Stephen Dweck, Rachel Dooley of Gemma Redux, Ron Anderson and David Rees of Ten Thousand Things and Cheryl Finnegan of Virgins Saints and Angels.
