Spend the night with the jaded Fatigue?e Fourbu (Jackie Schiffer) and the sultry Dominique Joli (Angela Pierson) as they seize the stage for the cabaret of their lives. Having bribed the police to kidnap the owner of the dingy Chez Leple?e cabaret, the fading inge?nues and their mild-mannered accompanist Jean Paul Pierre (Jeremy Rafal, also Musical Director), ditch the Piaf and present the show they've always dreamed of performing.
Produced in collaboration with Dramatic Publishing Company, award-winning composer Gregg Opelka's musical captures the flair of 1950s Paris, charting the triumphs and tragedies of everything from amour to acquittals to angry accordion players.
Directed by Andreas Hager, Lincoln Center Theater Directing Fellow, choreographed by Nia Woods and designed by Anna Yates, these performances mark the New York City premiere of Opelka's charming musical, hailed by Chicago Critic as "refreshingly new, witty, funny and slickly sophisticated."
C'est la Vie promises to delight musical theater fans, Francophiles and anyone who's ever dreamed of starting their life over in New Jersey.
