Following a two-and-a-half year illness, Michael Brecker passed away at the age of 57 in January 2007. As a result of his stylistic and harmonic innovations, Brecker is the most influential saxophonist of the last 30 years and is among the most studied contemporary instrumentalists in music schools throughout the world today. He is also a 13-time Grammy winner.
 
JazzReach, Inc. & the Blue Note Jazz Club will present “Celebrating Michael Brecker: A Musical Rememberance” featuring Ravi Coltrane along with Mr. Brecker’s longtime rhythm section, Joey Calderazzo(piano), Jeff “Tain” Watts (drums) and James Genus (bass) and special guests TBA. 
 
The series will also function as a fundraiser for the NYC-based not-for-profit, JazzReach, Inc. with all proceeds from ticket sales directly benefiting the organization’s 2012-2013 season of educational outreach for programming for young audiences nationwide.
 
When:  Tuesday through Thursday, August 21 – 23, 8pm & 10:30pm

Tickets:  $35 table seats, $20 at the bar
