CAMI Music has signed the innovative European theatrical pioneer MUMMENSCHANZ for North American representation beginning in 2013, both companies announced today. CAMI Music, an international leader specializing in the development of touring theatrical entertainment, musical events and performing arts, is proud to add the famed Swiss-based visual theater company to its world renowned roster.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, MUMMENSCHANZ continues to captivate audiences young and old around the globe with its groundbreaking art form. The acclaimed theater company is currently performing in New York City for four weeks (now until January 6th 2013) as the centerpiece to a four-month North American tour ending March 2013 -part of larger Worldwide Jubilee events to mark the group's milestone.

"A group of artists and innovators of the highest caliber, MUMMENSCHANZ is an ideal addition to the diverse and extensive CAMI Music family," said Jean-Jacques Cesbron, President, Columbia Artists Music. "We're eager to think in creative new ways and forge collaborative partnerships for this talented theater company."

"MUMMENSCHANZ has always had a loyal fan base and special relationship with the U.S. and North America - and now CAMI is uniquely positioned to help us tap into even bigger audiences in new ways as one of the leaders in theatrical touring and performing arts," said Markus Simmen, Managing Director, MUMMENSCHANZ Foundation. "MUMMENSCHANZ is so pleased to join this experienced team, with its strong tradition of cultivating artists and creating new opportunities."

Formed in Paris in 1972 by founding members Andres Bossard, Floriana Frassetto and Bernie Schürch, MUMMENSCHANZ paved the way for nonverbal theater and multiple new genres. Since then, the group has established its legacy with tireless touring across five continents over four Decades by the original artists (Frassetto is still a main cast member), as well as current featured players, Philipp Egli, Pietro Montandon and Raffaella Mattioli, and technical directors Jan Maria Lukas / Dino de Maio.

Seen by millions in more than 60 countries, MUMMENSCHANZ humorously communicates timeless truths and insights on the human condition using a purely nonverbal universal "language." The group creates a playful and uniquely memorable theater experience through an inventive use of shadow and light and creative manipulation of sculptural, expressive masks. The visually stunning spectacle is a form of family-friendly entertainment that sparks the imagination, transcends cultural barriers and dazzles audiences and generations of fans around the world.

Since 2009, MUMMENSCHANZ has been represented by Laura Colby, Director Elsie Management, a relationship that facilitated the group's return to North America after a long absence, with two successful tours: 2010-2011 and the "40 Years" anniversary tour currently running from fall 2012 through winter 2013.

See MUMMENSCHANZ in New York City at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts
(566 LaGuardia Place at the corner of Washington Square South) now through January 6, 2013.
