THE AMAZING RACE | 8:00-9:00pm | CBS
By: Kara McCoy | @i_got_the_tweet
In the hierarchy of reality television-trust me, it exists, I'm an expert-THE AMAZING RACE seems to consistently come out on top. At least in my head. Something about traveling the world from your living room couch is always satisfying, and you find yourself actually genuinely cheering these contestants on. It's like the Olympics of unscripted TV.
MICHAEL FEINSTEIN AT THE RAINBOW ROOM | 9:00-10:00pm | PBS
By: Dylan Siegman | @Dsiggy15
Not only an amazing singer, Michael Feinstein is equally, if not more well known for his work preserving the American Songbook. Joined by Christine Ebersole, Cheyenne Jackson, Jessica Sanchez, the Manzari Brothers and June Squibb at the nightclub in New York, this special is sure to please both Broadway fans and regular music lovers alike.
ZOMBIELAND | 9:30-11:30pm | TBS
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt
Come on now, what's not to love about a movie that stars Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin; has one of the best celebrity cameo this side of WEDDING CRASHERS; AND is about zombies? It doesn't even need to be Halloween to enjoy this dark comedy. After a Zombie-Apocalypse (that started with a case of Mad Cow Disease), all of the country's survivors have to fend for themselves, and along the way, four survivors decide the best thing to do is to trek across the country to an amusement park.
FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME | 10:30-11:00pm | Pivot
By: Matt Tamanini | @BWWMatt
What? You aren't already watching FREESTYLE LOVE SUPREME? And you call yourself a musical theatre fan? If somehow you didn't know, FLS is an improv hip-hop crew made up of some of Broadway's brightest and impressive professional musicians. Most notably for BWW readers are Tony, Grammy, and Emmy winner Lin-Manuel Miranda and his IN THE HEIGHTS Emmy-winning co-star Christopher Jackson. Also joining them is Miranda's long-time collaborator Emmy-winner Bill Sherman... that's a lot of trophies on that stage. FLS takes suggestions from their live audience and crafts original songs and raps at the drop of a hat. Look I made a hat; where there never was a hat. Oh geez ma', look at that, I went and made a rhyme just right off the bat. Now I'm startin' to sound stupid, so I'ma say, "Peace out, I'm Matt."
