Bush is Bad: The Musical Cure for the Blue-State Blues, now playing Off-Broadway at The Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street (between Broadway and Columbus), will add special performances for the Saturdays in July at 7:00 pm in addition to the regular Thursday and Friday performances.

The additional summer performances have been added to handle audience demand. The show--described as "the hilarious, cathartic and unabashedly partisan musical revue by Joshua Rosenblum (Fermat's Last Tango, Einstein's Dreams)," currently stars Janet Dickinson, Neal Mayer and Michael McCoy, and is directed and choreographed by Gary Slavin with musical direction by Rosenblum. Costumes are by Anne Auberjonois, with lighting and sound by Tonya Pierre.

Originally slated for only eight performances, Bush is Bad extended its run twice, before continuing indefinitely, with Thursday and Friday performances at 9 PM. The original cast CD recording of the show is now available in selected Tower Records stores, including both Manhattan outlets, and online through www.amazon.com, www.originalcastrecords.com, www.towerrecords.com, and www.footlight.com.

"The show, which has been described as a cross between Forbidden Broadway and 'The Daily Show,' offers catchy tunes, wickedly funny lyrics and scathing impersonations of the president and his dissembling gang of conspirators." Bush is Bad song titles include "How Can 59 Million People Be So Dumb?," "Good Conservative Values," "The Gay Agenda," and "New Hope for the Fabulously Wealthy." There are also riffs on how famous composers of the past would have treated the theme, with German Romantic composer Robert Schumann's "Das Busch ist Schlecht," and a transformation of Kurt Weill's "Surabaya, Johnny" into a lament by Laura Bush called "Sure, You Betcha, Georgie."
