As BroadwayWorld just reported, it's official -- FROZEN, a new musical based on Disney's Academy Award-winning musical film, is slated to join Disney hits ALADDIN and THE LION KING on Broadway at a theatre to be announced in spring 2018. FROZEN will also play its out-of-town tryout beginning in summer 2017 at a theatre to be announced. Below, get ready for the blizzard with an in-depth look at the musical's creative team!

Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (music & lyrics) are the Oscar-winning married songwriting team behind the sensational Disney animated film, FROZEN. FROZEN won Oscars for Best Song ("Let It Go") and Best Animated Feature. Robert has co-conceived and co-written smash-hit musicals AVENUE Q and THE BOOK OF MORMON, which both earned him Tony Awards. Kristen's show, IN TRANSIT, opened off-Broadway in 2010 and earned recognition at the Drama Desk, Drama League and Lucille Lortel awards that year.

The duo has written for television, film and stage, including the stage version of FINDING NEMO, songs for THE WONDER PETS (two Emmy award wins) and the WINNIE THE POOH animated film. The husband and wife songwriting team's latest project is the new musical UP HERE, which just debuted over the summer at La Jolla Playhouse in California.

Jennifer Lee (book) is the FROZEN film's screenwriter and director (with Chris Buck). She also co-wrote the screenplay for Disney's WRECK-IT RALPH. She is the first female director of a Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film and the first writer at any major animation studio to become a director. She reunited with Buck to write and direct the short FROZEN FEVER, and the pair is currently collaborating on FROZEN 2.

Golden Globe Award and Obie winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (director) has helmed Broadway's ROCKY, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, THE PEE-WEE HERMAN SHOW, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON (for which he also wrote the book), and off-Broadway's HERE LIES LOVE. He is also the director for Amazon's original series MOZART IN THE JUNGLE.

Tony-winner Peter Darling (choreographer) is behind the dances of Broadway's BILLY ELLIOT and MATILDA THE MUSICAL; the latter originated at the RSC before traveling to the West End and New York. He is currently working on the musical adaptation of GROUNDHOG DAY, headed for Broadway next year after a debut at the Old Vic.

Seven-time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (scenic & costume design) is currently represented on Broadway by AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and ALADDIN. No stranger to Disney, he counts MARY POPPINS and TARZAN among his other Broadway credits. The prolific designer has also worked on SKYLIGHT, THE AUDIENCE, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, ONCE, A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, THE COAST OF UTOPIA, THE HISTORY BOYS, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, AIDA, THE ICEMAN COMETH, CAROUSEL, LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES and more for the Great White Way.

Five-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (lighting design) was recently announced for the Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS, and her work will soon be seen in LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. Her work can currently be seen in SCHOOL OF ROCK - THE MUSICAL, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS and ALADDIN. She has also worked on the Disney musicals TARZAN and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Among her past Broadway credits are MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, GIGI, SKYLIGHT, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, SCANDALOUS, ELF, ONCE, FOLLIES, SISTER ACT, HEDDA GABLER, THE COAST OF UTOPIA, TABOO, FLOWER DRUM SONG, SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS, SEUSSICAL, AIDA, MY FAIR LADY, PETER PAN, GYPSY and more.

Four-time Tony nominee Peter Hylenski (sound design) is behind the sound for Broadway's current hit SOMETHING ROTTEN! He has also designed for MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, SIDE SHOW, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, ROCKY, AFTER MIDNIGHT, ELF, ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, ROCK OF AGES, SHREK THE MUSICAL, CRY-BABY, THE WEDDING SINGER, LITTLE WOMEN, BROOKLYN and more.

Two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Oremus (music supervision, vocal & incidental arrangements) is a leading music director working on Broadway and has won Tonys for Best Orchestration for his work on THE BOOK OF MORMON and KINKY BOOTS, as well as the Grammy for both Original Cast Albums. He served as music director, conductor and often orchestrator for a string of Broadway hits that include WICKED, AVENUE Q, ALL SHOOK UP, 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL and HIGH FIDELITY. He most recently acted as music director of the 87th Academy Awards, teaming with Oscar producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, with whom he reunited for NBC's THE WIZ LIVE!

FROZEN is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, under the direction of Thomas Schumacher. Stay tuned for announcements on casting and more!
