Legendary Broadway star, actress/singer Betty Buckley, currently starring Off-Broadway in the hit comedy White's Lies, will offer her celebrated "Song & Monologue Interpretation Workshop" from June 29 - July 2, 2010, at The Jason Bennett Actor's Workshop in New York City.

The Tony-award-winning Buckley will share her unique, practical performance methods with aspiring young artists, educators & professionals. She will guide students through focusing & communication exercises that facilitate presence & deep audience connection in performance. Her profound energetic connection to songs, to performers & to audiences, is long celebrated.

Betty Buckley has thrilled audiences for years with acclaimed performances in such Broadway shows as Sunset Boulevard, Cats, The Mystery of Edwin Drood & 1776. Her highly praised starring role in the M. Night Shyamalan feature film The Happening, joins her other memorable film performances which include Tender Mercies, Frantic & Carrie. Recently, she was seen in the new Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg mini-series "The Pacific," on HBO. In 2009, Ms. Buckley was honored with the Texas Medal of Arts Award for Theatre & was inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in 2007. She also has an extensive concert career & recently received rave reviews for her new show For the Love of Broadway! at the prestigious Feinstein's at the Regency in New York City. The New York Times' Stephen Holden praised Buckley as being "at the very top of her game." John Simon of Bloomberg.com wrote, "Equally accomplished as actress & singer, she pours a lifetime into every song."

The Jason Bennett Actor's Workshop is a professional acting & musical theatre program in New York City, founded 10 years ago by Jason Bennett. The philosophy of the school blends all the great 20th Century acting methods into a unified, modern, practical approach to all kinds of performing for theatre, television & film. The faculty includes diverse, award-winning actors, singers, dancers, teachers & psychologists who specialize in working with creative artists. Jason Bennett is an award-winning acting & voice teacher who works with professional performers on Broadway, in film & in television. Betty Buckley's "Song & Monologue Interpretation Workshop" will consist of four sessions beginning Tuesday, June 29 - Friday, July 2. Each session begins at noon & lasts for 4 hours. The class welcomes auditors, at a reduced rate, who participate in all aspects of the class - including powerful group exercises & work with partners - except the individual singing & monologue coaching by Ms. Buckley.
