According to an article in the New York Daily News, Breaking Bad fans may not have seen the last of Walter White. The site reports that the character, played by Emmy-Award winning actor Bryan Cranston will likely appear in the upcoming "Breaking Bad" spinoff "Better Call Saul", which co-creator Peter Gould confirms will be set partially during the events of "Breaking Bad."
"One of the great things about having a time line which is flexible is that perhaps some of it takes place before 'Breaking Bad,' during 'Breaking Bad,' and after 'Breaking Bad'. That gives us the ability to bring back characters that were killed on 'Breaking Bad,'" Gould told The New York Daily News.
Although the new series will not debut on the cable network until next year,
AMC has already given the greenlight to a second, longer season of the hour-long show from Gould and "Bad" writer
Vince Gilligan. The show is set to focus on the adventures of Saul Goodman, attorney to meth kingpins Gus Fring and
Walter White.
Jonathan Banks, who portrayed henchman Mike Ehrmantraut on "Breaking Bad," has already been cast as a "Saul" regular, while Cranston, who recently picked up a Tony Award for his performance in Broadway's 'All the Way', has long expressed interest in reprising his signature
Walter White character on "Saul."
