The UK's Telegraph reports that Bruce Willis is expected to return for a sixth installment of the DIE HARD franchise. Len Wiseman, who helmed 2007's LIVE FREE OR DIE Hard, is set to direct the film, to be called DIE HARD: YEAR ONE.

The movie is reportedly a prequel, with most of the action taking place in the year 1979, when Willis' iconic character, John McClane was an NYC cop. According to the report, a younger actor will most likely portray the role with Willis playing the character in the present day.

Willis first starred as McClane in the original Die Hard film released in 1988. He later reprised the role in 1991 for the sequel, Die Hard 2, and again in 1995 for Die Hard with a Vengeance. The actor then returned in 2007 for LIVE FREE OR DIE Hard. The actor is making his Broadway debut in the stage adaptation of MISERY.
