Bruce Vilanch, winner of 3 Emmy Awards for writing TV's Oscar telecasts, the popular center square on Hollywood Squares, and the Broadway star of Hairspray, returns for his record 5th appearance as the host of the New York NIghtlife Awards at Town Hall on Monday, January 27th, 7 PM at The Town Hall. Vilanch will be joined on stage by a cast of performers chosen as the most outstanding nightclub entertainers of the past year by the very press that covers them. As in the past, a wide array of major stars from a variety of mediums will both entertain and introduce the winners in support of New York nightlife.

Scott Siegel, who created this award show twelve years ago and is its producer, said in a statement, "The Nightlife Awards is the only award show devoted exclusively to promoting nightclub entertainers to a wider audience. That's why there are no acceptance speeches in this show; we want the winners to show everyone WHY they were chosen. Ever since this show began, the best and the brightest of stars have demonstrated their art to an audience totally beguiled by the rich and wildly varied array of talent that struts this stage at every Nightlife Awards show.

"Consider just some of the stars that have performed at the Nightlife Awards - some at the beginnings of their careers, like Demetri Martin, TJ & Dave, and Hannibal Buress who have since become big stars. And some at the end of their careers who are iconic: Eartha Kitt, Alan King, and Margaret Whiting. And the vast majority simply huge stars at the zenith of their powers: Betty Buckley, Kristen Chenowith, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Robert Klein, Donna Murphy, Raul Esparza, Stephanie J. Block, John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molasky, and dozens more!

"Until this year's winners and guest star performers/presenters are announced, I hope that devotees of New York nightlife will trust that this year's show will be just as star-studded as past shows have always been. In order to secure your tickets now, you may purchase them at TicketMaster or you can buy them by mail order to avoid extra fees (for that information, email SiegelEntertainment@msn.com). Tickets will otherwise be available at the Town Hall box office starting January 6th.

Ticket prices are:

The Town Hall is located at 123 West 43rd Street, NY, NY 10036

The Nightlife Awards is sponsored, in part, by ASCAP, Irwin & Jill Cohen, Fran Norkin, The Berkshire Theatre Group, Stuart Bloom & Robert Aaron, Lightstyles LLC, and is supported by donations and contributions by scores of others who will be listed in the show's program!
