Too pop for indie, yet too indie for pop, Modern Whale, a Brooklyn-based trio, released their single, "The Dirt" on March 16th in partnership with 6Tetra4 Records. The single is available for streaming on Apple, Spotify and DSG's.

Helmed by Rob Guariglia, Bushwick-based record producer and songwriter, Modern Whale has been Vevo's "Featured Artist" for each of their previous releases. The outfit cultivates a sound rooted in pop-rock yet carries an amorphous quality that blurs the lines between genre, landing on Spotify playlists such as 'Indie Pop' and 'Guitar Fresh Finds'.

An industry veteran and multi-instrumentalist, Guariglia is a producer, Rebel-One songwriter and performer that has appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Carson Daly and Martha Stewart. Guariglia has gained notability as a lead guitarist, performing worldwide with household names that include The Veronicas, three-time Grammy nominee Ryan Shaw, Natasha Bedingfield, Oh Honey and Phoebe Ryan. Most recently he worked back-to-back with indie-blog favorites Native Sons and The Worst Humans. As Producer for Native Sons, Guariglia oversaw the production of their latest EP "Songs About Love and Hate'. He has also collaborated with Stevie Wolf, mixing his tracks "Low" and "Who", which have both been featured on Spotify's New Must Friday. Guariglia's success as a producer is seen in various collaborations with the likes of hit-maker Scott Harris and Christian hip-hop artist Shonlock. Alongside Shonlock, Guariglia co-wrote a Billboard chart-topping hit "Beyond This World". His work is further recognized in original content he's created for Victoria's Secret, Ugg, FOX, ESPN, Electronic Arts and the theme song for Cartoon Network's "The Life and Times of Juniper Lee".
