The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will honor manufacturers who make products in the borough in the field of food and beverage, design and technology at its Annual Meeting and Trade Show in October.

"The 'Made in Brooklyn' awards will allow us to highlight and celebrate the best of what Brooklyn has to offer," said Carlo A. Scissura, President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. "We all know that business is booming in Brooklyn and that more and more people are coming here to create and make products in a variety of fields. Brooklyn has become New York City's center for creativity and we want to honor those who make products here and at the same time create jobs and contribute to the economy."

The Chamber plans to honor makers from three sectors: food and beverage, design and technology and innovation. A fourth category is set aside for a maker in one of the three aforementioned categories that is a MWBE-owned business.

An independent jury will decide the winners of each category. Businesses can nominate themselves for awards.

The deadline for submissions is TODAY, September 27 at 4 p.m. To download a nomination form, visit our website www.ibrooklyn.com and click on the "Go Brooklyn" tab.
