Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will honor Bagels by Bell as the one of the country's premiere bagel and bialy purveyors. The Canarsie-based bakery is the official bagel provider at the New York Lounge during the Sundance and Slamdance Film Festivals in Park City, Utah for the 9th year in a row. Founded over 50 years ago by Warren Bell's father, Bagels by Bell is a New York City institution known for its hand-made bagels and bialies and use of fresh ingredients. This year, the company's bagels will be accompanied by cider from Red Jacket Orchards in Geneva, New York.
Each year, the NYS Governor's Office for Motion Picture & Television Development sets up a New York Lounge in Park City to honor New York filmmakers who are showing in the festivals and to encourage filmmakers from all over the world to choose New York as the location for their upcoming projects.
doddle, one of the sponsors of the New York Lounge, is a user-generated, continuously updated database with listings for every imaginable resource that pertains to film and TV production. Its resources include everything from producers, actors and directors to designers and crew members. There are even listings for hotel accommodations and film commission offices all over the country and, soon, the world. Some have called it the "Bible" for anyone planning a film or television project.
