MCC Theater has announced that Brooke Smith will play Sam, a Seattle housewife, in the U.S. premiere of the play Some Girl(s) by Neil LaBute. She joins previously-announced "ER" star Maura Tierney and "Will and Grace" star Eric McCormack in the play. The strictly limited engagement of Some Girl(s) will
begin preview performances on Wednesday, May 17th and continue through
Saturday, June 24 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher
Street, NYC). Opening night is set for Thursday, June 8, 7PM.
Some Girl(s) reunites LaBute with director Jo Bonney, who helmed MCC's critically-acclaimed, sold-out run of Fat Pig last season. "Set in four different city hotel rooms (Seattle, Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles), Some Girl(s) follows a soon-to-be-engaged man as he pays a last visit to four ex-girlfriends before taking the plunge. Casting is underway for the roles of the other two ex-girlfriends--Tyler and Lindsay. Smith's stage work includes Stop Kiss at The Public Theater, Andre Gregory's production of Uncle Vanya at The Victory Theater (the basis for Louis Malle's subsequent screen adaptation), Walking the Dead and The Triumph of Love (McCarter Theatre). Her film credits include Silence of the Lambs (in which she played Catherine Martin, as well as Vanya on 42nd Street, Kansas City, The Night We Never Met, Mr. Wonderful, The Moderns, Trees Lounge, Random Hearts, Melinda and Melinda and In Her Shoes. For television, she has appeared in the HBO mini-series "Iron Jawed Angels" and on series such as "Six Feet Under," "Series 7: The Contenders," "Law and Order: Criminal Intent," "100 Centre Street," "Homicide: Life on the Streets." She has also worked as a filmmaker.

at the Gielgud Theatre and starred David Schwimmer as 'Man;' it ran
from May 12th through August 13th, 2005.
