The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce the 5th iteration of Boogie on the Boulevard, a one-of-a-kind music, arts, and fitness festival that supports positive social change and community building in the Bronx. On Sunday, August 26, the center lanes of the Grand Concourse-from 162nd Street to 170th Street-will be closed to cars and open to the public for free music, art, dance, education and fitness programs produced by Bronx-based organizations and led by local Bronxites.
Boogie on the Boulevard performances and activities will take place throughout the Grand Concourse. Each Boogie block is an innovative and immersive environment that encourages healthy activities, education and positive engagement. This year's festivities include rock climbing, euro bungee, roller skating, aerial performers, and a circus. Full program below.
Boogie on the Boulevard is one of the museum's three core public programs that take a holistic approach to community building. Reflecting on the borough's dynamic communities, Boogie on the Boulevard provides a positive public environment where communities can connect, learn, and experience vibrant programming.
Past iterations of Boogie on the Boulevard have included unicycling, stilt walking, roller skating, Bollywood dance, Mexican traditional dance, and Afro-Brazilian drum teams.
