Spoon is Dead is led by Sam Poon, who has been working professionally since age 5, performing on Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theaters, and on-camera. This past winter he was seen in The Happiest Millionaire at Joe's Pub and The American Scoreboard at Pace University, as well as several readings of new works.

He was most recently seen reprising his role in Runaways, previously at New York City Center, for The Public Theatre's Gala this past June. In addition to his time on stage, Sam has spent the last year writing and producing his first album entitled S.P.O.O.N. which can be found on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and Tidal. Sam defines his music as "alternative rock that's heavily inspired by old and new r&b and hip-hop". He draws inspiration from an eclectic assortment of artists and groups including Radiohead, Mac DeMarco, Amy Winehouse, Led Zeppelin, Tyler, The Creator, Daniel Caesar, The Beatles, Kendrick Lamar, Rex Orange County, The Strokes, and more. Spoon is Dead is also comprised of band members: Nicky Torchia ( The King and I, Kinky Boots, Elf the Musical, A Christmas Story) on bass, Kabir Adhiya-Kumar on drums, and Misha Nicholas on keys.
