Acorn Media has announced the May 2nd DVD release of the "Broadway's Lost Treasures Collection," a 4-volume boxed set of performances from the annual Tony Award broadcasts.

The set includes "Broadway's Lost Treasures" I, II, and III and "The Best of the Tony Awards: –The Plays." Produced as PBS specials, "Broadway's Lost Treasure"s I, II, & III feature legendary stars—including Patti LuPone, Nell Carter, Jerry Orbach, Gwen Verdon, Ethel Merman, Julie Andrews, Angela Lansbury, and Joel Grey—performing numbers from legendary Broadway musicals. "The Best of the Tony Awards: –The Plays" features acting greats, such as James Earl Jones, Maggie Smith, Annette Bening, Kevin Kline, and Morgan Freeman, performing key scenes from 19 celebrated plays.

DVD special features include 14 bonus musical performances not seen on PBS, original Playbill cover art, historical information about the original Broadway productions, and a song index for each musical program. The set is priced at $59.99 SRP, with a total running time of 264 minutes.

The musicals featured in the "Broadway's Lost Treasures" programs include Anything Goes, Man of La Mancha, Guys and Dolls, Ain't Misbehavin', Chicago, Fosse, Miss Saigon, Crazy for You, and many more. The 19 plays featured in "The Best of the Tony Awards—: The Plays" include The Great White Hope, The Heidi Chronicles, Fences, Hamlet, and Long Day's Journey Into Night. Broadway royalty and Tony-winners, including Lauren Bacall, Bebe Neuwirth, Robert Goulet, and Harvey Fierstein, serve as hosts for the programs and share their own Broadway and Tony memories.
