MANHATTAN centers on an underground mission to build the world's first atomic bomb in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Frank Winter (Hickey) is a brilliant physics professor asked to help lead the Manhattan Project -- at the expense of both his family and his sanity. Glen Babbit (Stern) is a witty, experienced mentor to the younger physicists working on the project, as well as something of a political liaison.

The pair join Rachel Brosnahan, Ashley Zukerman and Harry Lloyd in the cast.

Hickey last starred on Broadway in 2011's The Normal Heart, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play. His past stage credits include Broadway's Mary Stuart, The Crucible, Cabaret and Love! Valour! Compassion!, as well as off-Broadway's God's Heart, Blue Window, On the Bum and The End of the Day.

Hickey's upcoming big screen projects include My Eleventh and Big Stone Gap. Among his past TV credits are Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, The Good Wife, Hannibal, The Big C, The New Normal, The Mob Doctor and more.

Stern starred onstage in 2012's THE OTHER PLACE at Manhattan Theatre Club. He has also appeared off-Broadway in True West and The Old Glory. He will next be seen in the TV movie Girlfriend in a Coma. His other TV appearances include House of Lies, Getting On, Workaholics, Monk, Family Guy, Regular Joe, Danny, Dilbert, The Wonder Years and more.
