TheaterWorksUSA, the country's premier not-for-profit producer of professional theater for young and family audiences for over 57 years, will host its annual spring benefit at The Current at Chelsea Piers on Monday, April 29. Funds raised at the event will support TheaterWorksUSA's ongoing commitment to keeping theater accessible to diverse communities nationwide and providing opportunities for professional artists in New York City to create exceptional new work for young and family audiences.
This year's event will honor Marco Masotti and Tracy Stein, for their longstanding philanthropic dedication to providing access to the arts for young audiences; Judith C. Prince, for her years of leadership as Board Chair and her ongoing service to TheaterWorksUSA; and apple seeds (Allison Schlanger, Craig Schlanger, Alison Qualter Berna, Bobby Berna), for its commitment to developing creativity and strengthening community among New York City families.
The evening's program will be hosted by James Snyder (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, In Transit Cry-Baby) and will feature Broadway performers Elena Shaddow (The Visit, Bridges of Madison County, La Cage aux Folles), Quentin Earl Darrington (Once on this Island, Cats, Ragtime), Kenita Miller (Once on this Island, Xanadu, The Color Purple), Kristy Cates (Wicked, Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), Carrie St. Louis (Wicked, Kinky Boots, Rock of Ages) plus Dan DeLuca ("The Wire", Newsies National Tour) and 2019 Graduates from NYU Tisch's New Studio on Broadway, JAVIER TALOR FOX, MICHELA MASOTTI, David Ossman and KATIE SHULTS.
