Karmine Alers, who is currently part of the Broadway cast of Rent, will perform on "The Tony Danza Show" Dec. 12, and the segment will be broadcast on Dec. 23.

Alers will sing "This is Christmas," a track from "Carols for a Cure," the annual holiday CD that raises funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. "This Is Christmas" was penned by Rent musical director Boko Suzuki.

"The Tony Danza Show" airs in the metropolitan area on WABC-TV Channel 7 from 10-11 AM ET. Check local listings.

Karmine Alers has been seen in the Broadway and national touring companies of Rent. She also appeared in a regional production of Aida. Visit KarmineAlers.com for more information.

"Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure Volume 7" is currently being sold during the Gypsy of the Year fundraising period (now through Dec. 5) at participating Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. The 26-track double CD can also now be purchased by visiting the Broadway Cares website at www.broadwaycares.org.

The recording features new and traditional holiday carols, including Darlene Love and the cast of Hairspray's rendition of "All Alone on Christmas" and Ann Harada's version of "Go Tell It on the Mountain."

"Carols" is the latest fund-raising CD produced by Lynn Pinto to benefit BC/EFA. In a statement Pinto said, "This is the seventh year of 'Carols for a Cure' and we are so excited about the overwhelming responses by both the participating casts and the Broadway fans. It's a win-win situation for everyone. Broadway performers get to represent their show in fun and creative ways, fans look forward to hearing what their favorite performers have come up with, and the money goes to a great cause. To date, 'Carols for a Cure' has raised nearly two million dollars for BC/EFA."
