R.Evolución Latina -RL- has created Dance-A-Thon 2013, a fun and exciting event that will unite the community and continue this year's focus of cultural exchange through the arts. More than 250 participants from all ages and levels will be dancing different rhythms from Latin America and the Caribbean for five straight hours at the Baruch College Sports Center, 55 Lexington Ave, New York, New York. The Dance-A-Thon starts at 2pm on Saturday, December 14th.

"Dance heals. Dance is the ultimate expression of the soul. I support the Dance-A-Thon because I believe dance is a way to celebrate and bring our community together," says Honorary Chair Bianca Marroquín. "R.Evolución Latina's event will challenge our community to prepare, to train and to fight for something meaningful. 'If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it. DARE TO GO BEYOND," she enthusiastically concludes.

Participants will dance salsa, merengue, hip-hop, musical theater and other rhythms with the assistance of teaching artists who will show new steps, fun choreographies and encourage them to reach their goals. Registration and warm-up activities begin at 12pm and dancing starts at 2pm. An after-party will start at 7pm with music by Willie Martínez and the New York City Salsa All Stars with Special Guest, Jorge Maldonado.

"We continue to find ways to empower and celebrate our communities. We need each other and we can inspire each other to go beyond". says Luis Salgado, Founder and Artistic Director of R.Evolución Latina. "Our objective is to plan and execute a fundraising event that has a meaningful impact on the organization programs, outreach, and collaborations", he ends.

R.Evolución Latina's Dance-A-Thon, a fundraising event, will enable R.Evolución Latina to continue its goals of bringing arts programs to schools and a free summer camp to over 200 kids in NYC. It will offer young artists with free training in performing arts so that in time they would create social change while expanding RL's mission beyond NYC, nationwide and in Latin America.

"If you are an artist, a dancer, a volunteer or a community leader that supports RL's mission or if you simply love to dance to support a good cause, we invite you to participate in RL's Dance-A-Thon. It'll be the best opportunity to Dare to Go Beyond and make a difference through the arts," states Denisse Ambert, R.Evolución Latina's Executive Director.
