A little snow can't stop Broadway for long, but stay warm, Broadway fans! Following New York's Saturday shut-down caused by Winter Storm Jonas, NYC's travel ban has been lifted, and all Broadway shows are back in full force today.
Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted updates regarding New York transportation this morning, saying bridges and tunnels have reopened, bus service has been restored, and most Subway lines will be up and running by 9am. MTA advises New Yorkers to expect delays as the city's transportation commences. Click here for full details on bus and subway operations.
Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League, stated, "'The show must go on,' especially for the large percentage of our audience who come in from out of town to see a Broadway show and we don't want to disappoint them. As always, the safety and security of theatregoers and employees is everyone's primary concern."
BroadwayWorld previously reported that all of Saturday's Broadway shows were cancelled due to the blizzard and travel ban. Today Broadway is back! (and Off-Broadway too).
