The effects of the strike aren't just limited to Broadway shows, as the rock group Duran Duran has just released a statement announcing the cancellation of the rest of their scheduled run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
"Duran Duran has been forced to rescheduling their three remaining shows at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre New York (tonight: Saturday 10th, Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th) due to Local One Union Strike action.
Band members are working around the clock to find alternative venue to reschedule shows for early next week.All tickets for the three rescheduled Broadway dates will be honored.At 10 am this morning (Saturday) the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees announced that they had authorized a Local One strike against the League of American Theaters and Producers, forcing Duran Duran to reschedule tonight's show, together with two others slated to take place early next week at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Broadway, NYC.Planned to be the eighth show of their ten night residency on the Great White Way, tonight's sold out concert will be rescheduled, along with Monday and Tuesday's shows, at an alternative venue in Manhattan. Details of the new location will be announced as soon as plans have been finalized but band manager, Wendy Laister, said this morning that she was hopeful she would be able to secure a larger concert hall for Monday and Tuesday evening that would allow everyone who had a ticket for today to be accommodated, as well as those holding tickets for the two final nights.Videos
