According to People.com, the major fashion house of Halston has secured a deal with Sex and the City star and Broadway veteran Sarah Jessica Parker, offering her a design role for their new collection.

WWD reports that Parker has committed to design for, and possibly get promoted to creative director of, Halston Heritage, a new cost-friendly collection that features modern updates of vintage Halson pieces. Parker's fashion-famous character, Carrie Bradshaw, reportedly sports numerous Halston numbers in the upcoming Sex and the City 2.

Sarah Jessica Parker is no a stranger to the fashion world. In addition to playing fashionista Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City for six seasons on HBO, 2008's Sex and the City the Movie and the upcoming Sex and the City 2, she also launched her own affordable clothing line, the now discontinued Bitten, for Steve & Barry in 2007.

Sarah Jessica Parker has also performed on the Broadway stage several times during her career. Parker made her Broadway debut in 1976 in the short lived revival of William Archibald's THE INNOCENTS. She went on to play the iconic title role in the original Broadway production of ANNIE. Parker later starred in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING and ONCE UPON A MATRESS in the 1990s. She is married to Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick.
