As Broadway remains dark, BroadwayWorld wants to make sure that you still get your theatre fix each and every day until it's back. In our daily series Broadway Rewind, we're uncovering footage from the depths of our archives so that you can relive magical moments of Broadway past!
Today we rewind to 2014, when Neil Patrick Harris returned to Broadway with a Tony-winning performance in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The musical, which features a book by John Cameron Mitchell and music by Stephen Trask, played at the Belasco Theatre for 507 performances. Hedwig and the Angry Inch follows Hedwig Schmidt, a genderqueer East German singer of a fictional rock and roll band. The story draws on Mitchell's life as the child of a U.S. Army Major General who once commanded the U.S. sector of occupied West Berlin.
