The Broadway production of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA!, held firm in the Million Dollar Club again last week grossing $1,038,790. for 8 performances ending August 3rd and topping the previous week's gross of $1,022,164. (week ending July 27th).
After setting records in markets around the world, MAMMA MIA! – THE MOVIE opened in the United States to the best weekend ever for movie musical grossing $27.8 million, and has since grossed an estimated $88 million to date in the U.S. alone.
As MAMMA MIA! dominates stage and screen, Super Group ABBA's album "ABBA Gold" made it to #1 on the UK artist chart yesterday - outselling rock group Coldplay - and also topped the U.S. Billboard Charts last week at #1 on the Catalog Chart.
The MAMMA MIA! – THE MOVIE film soundtrack topped #1 on the U.S. Soundtrack Chart last week, #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on UK and Australian Charts. It has gone platinum in Canada, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Sweden and Australia, and Gold in the United States, Austria, Denmark and New Zealand.
