Broadway Kids Jam has released their latest jam, "What You Own" from the critically acclaimed Broadway musical, Rent. This jam features Paul "Luke" Bonenfant (School of Rock, Dallas), and Joshua Turchin (The Pill, TrevorLIVE LA, A Christmas Story the Musical). See the BroadwayKids Jam video here:

Both Luke and Joshua play several instruments and selected this song to have the opportunity to collaborate as musicians as well as performers. "BKJ is an amazing opportunity to play songs not just from current Broadway but some great songs from the past, like this week's song from Rent. We get to both perform and learn while having fun with our friends," said Luke Bonenfant.

Jonathan Larson wrote the music and lyrics of "What You Own". The Broadway show of Rent opened on April 29, 1996 at the Nederlander Theater and closed on September 7, 2008. Prior to the Broadway run, Rent played at the New York Theater Workshop where it was met with great success. The show has toured extensively and been produced all over the world. Rent was revived off Broadway at New World Stages and ran from July 14, 2011 until September 9, 2012. The original Broadway cast included Adam Pascal as Roger Davis, Anthony Rapp as Mark Cohen, Idina Menzel as Maureen Johnson, Taye Diggs as Benjamin Coffin II, Wilson Jermaine Heredia as Angel Schunard, Fredi Walker as Joanne Jefferson, Jesse L. Martin as Tom Collins, and Daphne Rubin-Vega as Mimi Marquez. Producers included Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Allan S. Gordon and New York Theater Workshop. Michael Grief directed the production. Rent enjoyed such popularity and critical acclaim that a movie version of the show was released on November 23, 2005.

Broadway Kids Jam's founder and music director 11-year-old Joshua Turchin feels that BKJ allows him to do what he loves. "I get to explore my musical skills as a musician, performer and musical director while having fun with my closest friends. We all continue to improve and grow together while having a great time!"

Broadway Kids Jam features kids from various Broadway shows, Broadway national tours, movies, TV shows, animated series and commercials who love to jam and make music.

In addition to this What You Own Jam, other songs from Broadway Kids Jam include a "Mean Girls Jam" from the Broadway musical Mean Girls; "Pure Imagination" from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; "Waiting for Life" from Once on this Island; "Frozen Medley" featuring songs from Frozen; "Opening Up" from Waitress; "Sincerely, Me" from Dear Evan Hansen; "This Is Me" from The Greatest Showman; "Imagine" from John Lennon and the Broadway musical Lennon; "Waving Through A Window" from Dear Evan Hansen; "Don't Stop Believin' from Journey and the Broadway musical Rock of Ages; "Seasons of Love" from the Broadway musical Rent; "Prologue" from the hit Broadway musical Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 starring Josh Groban, and more with more to come.
