Broadway Inspirational Voices to Release Second Holiday Album 'GREAT JOY II'

Twelve years after the release of their first album, GREAT JOY - A GOSPEL CHRISTMAS, Michael McElroy and the Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) have announced the release of their second studio album, GREAT JOY II AROUND THE WORLD.

The 20-track album is a collection of holiday carols from across the globe. Listeners will be treated to BIV soloists and small groups singing sections of the traditional carols, followed by the full choir performing an updated version with a BIV gospel spin, as arranged by McElroy and BIV Music Director Joseph Joubert.

The new album is dedicated to the memory of composer and producer Buryl Red, who mentored McElroy and shepherded the first GREAT JOY into the world. From the liner notes by Mr. McElroy: "I didn't fully realize his (Red's) commitment to BIV, and to my creative growth, until he was not here. We all missed his guidance throughout this process. But when we were faced with challenges, I could hear Buryl's voice and feel his spirit reminding me that he had given us all knowledge needed to see this project through."

GREAT JOY II AROUND THE WORLD is available for purchase on the choir's website, www.BIVoices.org. All proceeds benefit BIV's Outreach Programs, which bring music to underserved youth in New York City.

Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV) was founded by Tony-nominated Michael McElroy in 1994 as the Broadway Gospel Choir. In 1999 BIV reincarnated to its current name. In 2010 BIV became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission consists of providing? HOPE? to ?INSPIRE? and TRANSFORM? youth in need through music and The Arts.
