Broadway Impact founders Gavin Creel (Hair, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Rory O'Malley (Book of Mormon) celebrated today's Supreme Court ruling via internet today. Creel is currently in London where he is starring as Elder Price in the West End's 'Book of Mormon.'

Today the Supreme Court declared that legislation which says marriage must be between a man and a woman is unconstitutional, thus allowing homosexual couples to receive the same benefits as heterosexual couples.

The Court also struck down California's Proposition 8. The decision comes after the Court held hearings about the legality of the state's gay marriage ban in March. The decision will now allow gay marriage to resume in California, however it does not legalize it in other states.

O'Malley posted a photo (above) of their celebration on Facebook today along with the following message:

"When Prop 8 passed, Jenny Kanelos, Gavin Creel and I organized Broadway Impact. Many inspiring people and events have brought us to this snapshot celebrating it's death. Thank you to the theater community for always leading the fight for progress in society. We are honored to have a front row seat to your passion and strength. Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we start counting down from 37! Put on "8" the Play in your hometown to show people the case that won equality for California!"

Creel shared the following post on Twitter: Gavin Creel @gavincreel
